This project involved the site adapt of a MAI-designed skilled nursing / rehabilitation prototype building. This project once again successfully achieved the Owner’s vision to satisfy the operational requirements of a skilled nursing / rehabilitation facility within the context of a resort-style physical environment. The new design successfully offered flexibility, functionality, and significant value with its drive-up appeal.
Primary elements that drove the functional design challenge included an I-2 Occupancy Group, a mandatory maximum of 150’ patient proximity to the nurse’s station and the ability to adapt to the 2.4-acre building site. The final design solution resulted in a three-story facility, constructed out of non-combustible metal framing, and featuring two patient room wings, a Café/Library, Barber/Beauty Shop and Physical Therapy area.
