Ronald ‘Ron’ K. Smith, AIA, P.E., NCARB is both a Registered Architect and Professional Engineer. This unique blend of certifications gives him a comprehensive perspective on design and performance. With more than 30 years of experience across the industry, Ron leads his clients, his colleagues, and the community through every stage of their design journey with confidence. His dedication to helping clients achieve their vision and his commitment to growing Architects has made him an integral part of Mayse & Associates Architects for over two decades.
 
Throughout his career, Ron has worked in both the developer’s chair and the Architect’s stool. These experiences have blessed him with the ability to anticipate a project’s needs and tailor creative, practical solutions early in the process. Paired with his deep understanding of municipal procedures, this skill set helps developers navigate complex approval requirements and secure jurisdictional approvals. Over his 28 years of professional licensure, Ron has made significant contributions to hospitality design and built a portfolio that features more than 100 hotels.
 
Since assuming the role of President, Ron, alongside his ownership partner, Nana Gaines, has guided Mayse & Associates Architects to success by emphasizing the relationships between all members of the team.
